The Story
Face à Face was born in Paris in 1995 from the creative vision of Pascal Jaulent, Nadine Roth, and Alyson Magee — three designers who believed eyewear should be as expressive as the person wearing it. In a market dominated by safe, predictable shapes, they dared to treat frames as wearable art.
What makes Face à Face unmistakable is their fearless approach to color. While most brands offer a handful of safe colorways, Face à Face works with exclusive acetate combinations that can feature up to four layers of color in a single frame. The result is eyewear that catches the light differently from every angle — a subtle complexity that rewards a closer look.
Each collection draws from architecture, fashion, and contemporary art, translating big ideas into frames that are surprisingly wearable. There's a sculptural quality to their designs — bold geometric shapes softened by organic curves — that manages to be both avant-garde and everyday-ready.
Designed in Paris and crafted in France, Italy, and Japan, Face à Face represents the best of European design sensibility. They've built a devoted following among people who see their glasses not as a necessity, but as the most important accessory they own.

Why We Carry Face à Face
"Face à Face is for the customer who walks in and says 'I want something nobody else has.' Their color work is unlike anything else in eyewear — every frame feels like a one-of-a-kind piece. We love watching someone try on a Face à Face and suddenly see themselves differently. That's what great eyewear does."
— Stacey Plank, Licensed Optician Since 1998
